“Waiting on Wednesday” is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re really excited about.
Due to be released by Angry Robot on September 25, 2012.
The publisher says:
From the Tales of Easie Damasco…
Meet Easie Damasco: Thief, swindler and lately, reluctant hero.
But whatever good intentions Damasco may have are about to be tested to their limits, as the most valuable – and dangerous – object in the land comes within his light-fingered grasp. Add in some suicidally stubborn giants, an old enemy with dreams of empire and the deadliest killers in two kingdoms on his heels, and Damasco’s chances of staying honest – or even just surviving – are getting slimmer by the hour.
Adrienne says: Why not? I like heroes that aren’t trying, I appreciate a good thief in my group when I play RPGs and who doesn’t like to root for the underdog? Confession: I’ve received the galley for this and look forward to starting it this week.
What am I reading this week?
I may have bit off more than I can chew.
In the car I’m still trudging through Best Served Cold by Joe Abernathy. I don’t know what I like more, the plot and the awesome characters, or the ridiculous narrator with the British accent. This is slow going, but I’m enjoying it. I’m on disc 6 of 23.
I’m halfway through The Hobbit. I’m sure I read it when I was younger, but I don’t remember anything about it.
I have the galleys for Crown Thief and The Genealogist’s Internet. I like to think that I’m still on top of my free internet genealogy resources but I was surprised to find that this will probably not help me very much because it’s for the UK. Huh. I thought it was just a typo when it said we were going to talk about the 1911 census. Eh, it might be useful for my clients.
Others that I want to get to: War Brides, The Loom and The Boy in the Suitcase.
